SCONA INDUSTRIES CURRENT JOB POSTING

Scona Industries is looking for a full time, experienced Manual Machinist to join our team.  

In this position, you will help us create tools and other components using a variety of equipment, such as a lathe, a drill press, a micrometer, and grinding machines.   

Candidates should have at least five years of manufacturing experience with a working knowledge of the operation and maintenance of manual machining equipment. 

Prior roles as a lathe and other manual machines operator is required.

• A minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience operating manual machining equipment. 
• A working knowledge of equipment preventative maintenance activities
• Set up and operation of manual equipment
• Read and interpret blueprints to determine what equipment and materials are necessary for the job
• Follow the blueprints to create the appropriate tools and components
• Machine product to specified requirements as defined within production shop orders, drawings and sketches or as directed by the management
• Administer metrology knowledge and experience as necessary
• Operate overhead cranes and forklifts for material handling of large product
• Maintain equipment in safe and productive condition, including but not limited to, regular routine lubrication, cleaning, maintaining coolant levels
• Practice excellent general housekeeping, including but not limited to, his/her work area, chip removal, floor areas, benches, storage areas to ensure a safe work environment
• Shovel chips generated by machinery; grind parts and assist and support fellow employees in their duties, when/as required
• Maintain proper working condition of measuring instruments by regular cleaning.
